When I had Blakeleigh, I wish I would have had this blog post to go to on what to purchase for not only her but also for myself. This list is to provide you with the essentials I used or wish I would have had used during her newborn months. I hope this is beneficial to you! (NOTE: If you click the picture it will take you to the product page.)
The 4moms rockaRoo is something very affordable and essential. You can easily move it into different rooms and will keep baby happy so you can actually get stuff done!!!
The Britax B-Lively Travel System Infant Car Seat and stroller combo is the best bang for your buck that I have been able to find. Usually, car seats can range from around $200 to 500+, and strollers can range anywhere from $150 to $1,000+. This combo is only $400 for both. Keep in mind the stroller can be used until the child is around six.
.
The Bright Starts 3-in-1 Around We Go Activity Center is the one I used for Blake and she LOVED it! This one allows them to feel more mobile than just a typical saucer.
The Metene Medical Forehead and Ear Thermometer is a great tool to ease your mind for the nights when your baby may feel a little warm.
The Douni Sleep Sound Machine may be an easy thing to overlook but this is an essential tool to help your baby learn how to self soothe.

Don’t forget to call your insurance and ask for a breast pump. All insurance companies are required to provide one to you, so don’t go out spending unnecessary money on one.
Punkin Butt Teething Oil is for whenever they start to teethe, this helps in breaking the layer of bacteria on top of the gums that usually drag on the process. It also aids in numbing their gums. You want to just put a drop on your finger and press on their gums.
The Banana Shape Teether Toy is something I used for Blakely during her whole teething process. It’s great because they can hold it and go to town.
The Sophie La Girafe is good because they will study it for a while as well as use it to chew on.
The Mary Meyer WubbaNub Infant Pacifier was our favorite baby accessory ever!!! Whenever they are tiny newborns, the small pacifier falls out of their mouth every five seconds. The animal can rest on their stomachs, and it holds it in place a lot better.
The Crummy Bunny Newborn Baby Mittens are not only adorable but are so great at staying on their little hands! Mittens can be hard to find. Most of them from Target or Carters are too big, and they wiggle them off way too easily. If they do that, they’ll keep scratching themselves. These stay on very well.
The Simple Joys by Carter’s Baby 4-Pack Side Snap Bodysuit are a NECESSITY. Here’s why A lot of people like to get the cute onesies from Target that says “Love you to the moon and back” or something else cheesy and sweet. Still, it’s beneficial to have about two dozen plain onesies and save the cute ones for outings or pictures. And you’re probably thinking, “how many times could I honestly change their onesie in a day.” Trust me when I say it’s going to be WAY more than you think. These also have the pullover for their hands, so when all the mittens are dirty, you have a backup!
The SwaddleMe Pod and Ziggy Baby Swaddles are a MUST! (Honestly just any swaddles in general!) When Blake was born, she would not let anyone swaddle her, not even the nurses. I wish that I would have tried harder, but sadly I didn’t even know these existed! I would try and get as many packs as possible because even if they barely spit up, it will be on them, and you will smell it. They can be expensive, I’ve found that “KID TO KID” has A lot that is only gently used for only A couple bucks.
The Snuggle Me Organic Baby Lounger helps when your baby comes home feeling like they’re still in the womb. You can place it inside a bassinet or a safe distance from you in the bed. You can also set it on the kitchen counter or couch.
The Boppy Original Nursing Pillow is great even if you choose not to breastfeed, this can aid in supporting you while you bottle feed. You can also swaddle them and prob them up to sleep after feeding and burping them. When they can hold their heads up, you can start to use it to teach them how to sit up.
The Kefee Kol Baby Nursing Cover & Nursing Poncho is the best multi-purposeful item you could have! Not only does it come in adorable patterns but you can use this for almost ANYTHING whether it be for a Car Seat Canopy, Shopping Cart Cover, Stroller Cover, private Breastfeeding Protection this will for sure be your go-to!
As far as nursing pads go, There are only a couple of choices when it comes to these. I found that the Medela Nursing Pads were the only kind that pulled moisture away and prevented itching. Sometimes you have to try a couple of different brands before getting comfortable, but these work! I promise!
The Tucks Medicated Pads / Witch Hazel Hemorrhoidal were the most helpful in aiding the healing process down there.
The hospital usually will send you home with some Postpartum Underwear but a couple of weeks before your due date, it doesn’t hurt to order some extra. The Frida Mom Disposable Postpartum Underwear will be the only thing that will feel comfortable.
The Frida Mom Perineal Medicated Witch Hazel Healing Foam is great to load up on to promote your healing.
